Have We Met? Because I Feel Like I Already Know You.
If you've landed here with that nagging feeling that you're meant for something different, I get it. I sat with that feeling for ten years.
A decade of Googling my way out of a job I hated, of living for the weekend, of buying shoes, racking up catalogue debt and booking holidays to make my day-to-day feel less grey. I knew exactly what to do to start a business, I was a designer and a marketing executive - and yet I still couldn't make myself do it.
Turns out that's not a knowledge problem. It's a fear problem.
In 2015 I finally quit. Not because I had a plan, or savings, or certainty, but because I was more exhausted by staying than I was scared of leaving. I hired a coach, spent three months unpicking everything I thought I knew about myself, and realised that most of what had kept me stuck was happening entirely in my own head.
That experience changed everything. Not just my business - my confidence, my relationships, my relationship with myself.
Here's what I know now that I didn't know then: you will never get the feeling that it's definitely, one hundred percent the right time. That feeling doesn't exist. Starting something new is uncomfortable because you've never done it before, not because you're doing it wrong.
And you don't have to have it all figured out before you begin.
If you're sitting on the fence, worried it's too much work, too much risk, too much to give up… I'm not going to tell you it's easy. But I will tell you that the Sunday night dread, the dragging your feet all week, the waiting for Friday? That has a cost too. It's just a cost we've been taught to accept.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not lost - you're ready. And ready is enough to start.
