I’m Carly, designer, business coach, writer and ex-corporate executive turned home-ed mum and van lifer.
I bring together 18+ years of branding, storytelling, systems and strategy with a dose of real world experience and humbling life lessons. I’m interested in the space between working and living, building a life on MY terms whilst rejecting hustle culture and opting out of systems that profit from our burnout.
What I’m all about:
-
Building businesses around our lives - not the other way around.
Self-employment, starting something of your own, sharing your expertise and creating income with more flexibility. I share what I've learned from 18+ years in design, marketing and business, alongside the reality of trying to make work take up less of my life.
-
Questioning the defaults and figuring out what actually works for us.
Minimalism, conscious consumption, personal growth, ageing, perimenopause and the occasional existential crisis. I'm interested in what happens when we stop trying to keep up, start paying attention to what we actually need and make more deliberate choices about how we spend our time, money and energy.
-
More places. More experiences. More stories to bring home.
We're building our campervan for slower family adventures in the UK and beyond, while figuring out how to travel more without waiting for the mythical perfect time. Expect road trips, places worth visiting, practical travel notes and plenty of things that catch my designer's eye along the way.
-
Childhood doesn't only happen in a classroom.
We home educate our daughter, following curiosity through books, museums, beaches, forests, travel and everyday life. I share what we're learning, activities we've loved and the unexpected rabbit holes that start with questions like, “Mum, what's this rock?”
-
Making things and paying attention to the things worth noticing.
Design, photography, colour, sketchbooks, beautiful doors, things we've collected and things I've made simply because I wanted to. After years of making creatively for clients, I'm trying to make more for the sheer pleasure of it - and use my designer's eye to notice more of the world around me.
